The Florida Panthers have traded forward Marcel Goc to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2015 third- and 2014 fifth-round draft pick. Goc, 30, has appeared in 62 games with the Panthers this season, scoring 11 goals and 12 assists. He is in the final year of a three-year, $5.1 million contract he signed prior to the 2010-11 season and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Goc was selected in the first round (20th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks. The German forward has played 550 career games with the Sharks, Panthers and Nashville Predators, scoring 72 goals and 105 assists.
